GOSHEN - Alton Yoder, 79, of Goshen, died at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at his residence after a short battle with cancer and Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1938 near Shipshewana, son of Noah J. and Mattie J. (Yoder) Yoder. On May 21, 1961 in Nappanee, he married his best friend, Dorothy Mae Mullet; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Doreen (Lynn) Hershberger of Middlebury; two sons, Arlin (Rhonda) Yoder of Middlebury, Tony (Carole) Yoder of Graham, North Carolina; nine grandchildren: Kristin (Greg) Yoder, Stephanie Hershberger, Heidi (Joshua) Holman, Eric Hershberger, Joshua Yoder, Jonathon Yoder, Jason Yoder, Darin Yoder, Alice Yoder; two great-grandchildren: Braxton and Natalie Yoder; four sisters, Susan (Levi) Lambright, Katie (Monroe) Yoder, Dorothy (Isaac) Borkholder, Edna (Alva) Miller; three brothers, Menno (Alice) Yoder, Daniel (Viola) Yoder, Amzie (Mae) Yoder; and a sister-in-law, Louise Yoder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Emma Yoder; and two brothers, Ervin and LeRoy Yoder.
Alton worked at Honeyville Metal, Starcraft RV and Miller’s Building Supply. He enjoyed spending the winters in Sarasota, Florida. He was a member of Gideons International.
Alton loved his family and enjoyed golfing, biking, bocce ball, and woodworking.
Alton accepted Jesus as Lord of his life at the age of 18 and has been a member of Townline Mennonite Church for 61 years. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Townline Mennonite Church, Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Pastors Dean Yoder and James Yoder. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to The Gideons or World Missionary Press.
Yoder, Anna Mary Smoker
Dec. 18, 1932 - Dec. 23, 2017
GOSHEN - Anna Mary Yoder, 85, of Goshen, passed away at 11:24 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23.
She was born Dec. 18, 1932 to Chris and Anna Mary (Fisher) Smoker.
On Sept. 3, 1960 she married Kenneth E. Yoder, he survives.
Additional survivors are daughter; three sons; five grandchildren, a great granddaughter; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation is from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury.
There is visitation from 9 - 9:45 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by a funeral procession leaving at 9:45 a.m. to go to a 10 a.m. graveside service at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Bonneyville Mennonite Church, Bristol.
Services conducted by Pastors Philip and Julie Bender and Marcella Hershberger.
Memorials may be given to Hope Rescue Mission.

March 24, 1938 - Feb. 13, 2017
ELKHART - Betty Yoder, 78, of Elkhart, formerly of Middlebury, died Monday, Feb. 13.
She was born March 24, 1938, to Jonas and Amanda (Stutzman) Miller.
She married Delbert D. Yoder and he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter Karen (Phil) Divine; two sons, Carl (Jenny) Yoder and James (Anna) Yoder; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister Mary (Noah) Frye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Katie Rheinheimer; four brothers, Leroy, Dennis, Joe and infant Jonas Miller Jr.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.
There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, Feb. 17, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Kent Miller.
Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.

Jan. 4, 2017 - Jan. 5, 2017
LIGONIER - Brian Alan Yoder, infant son of Mark Alan and Elsie Jean (Bontrager) Yoder of Ligonier, was born at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, and died at 1:29 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
Survivors in addition to his parents are five sisters, Jeanetta Fern, Alicesen Kay, Marissa Ann, Olivia Dawn and Abigail Rose Yoder and a brother, Brandon Larry Yoder, all at home; grandparents Harley and Mary Alice Yoder of Topeka, Irvin and Ruby Bontrager of Syracuse; great-grandparents Orpha Miller of Topeka, Harvey and Lydian Fry of Ligonier and Glen and Anna Fry of Topeka.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the family’s residence, 960 Tinkham Lane, Lot 400, Ligonier.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the LaVern Fry residence, 8070 N. 700 W., Ligonier.
Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Ligonier.

SHIPSHEWANA - Darlene Yoder, 59, of Shipshewana, died Thursday, Jan. 12.
She was born Sept. 10, 1957, to Robert and Betty (Goodremont) Hoff.
She married Stanley L. Yoder; he survives.
Survivors also are a sister, Rita Woodworth; half sister Bonnie Levitz; brothers Mike Hoff and Kirk Hoff; half brother Mark Lonsbury; niece Louetta Ledyard and her daughter Krystal Richards who were both like daughters to Darlene and Stanley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Geraldine Pelfry.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.
There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 15 at Townline Mennonite Church, Shipshewana.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Dean Yoder.
Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.

GOSHEN - David J. Yoder, 55, of Goshen, died Thursday, Feb. 23., while traveling back from Mexico where he had been obtaining medical care.
He was born Jan. 18, 1962, in Wellsboro, Pa., to David and Miriam (Bishop) Yoder.
Survivors are four daughters, Virginia, Roxanna, Jessica, and Violet Yoder; six sons, Elisha, Boaz, Abraham, Caleb, Cornelius and Barnabus Yoder; his parents, David and Miriam Yoder ; eight sisters, Deborah Yoder, Sharon Yoder, Janice Friesen and Joanna Yoder, Julie (Juan) Sandoval, Bonita (Ernest) Glick and Judith (Philip) Glick , Yolonda Yoder; four brothers, Joel (Estella) Yoder, Michael (Miriam), Merle (Mary) Yoder and Jeremy (Tansy) Yoder.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, and from 5 to 8 p.m.,Monday, Feb. 27, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the church.

ELKHART - David W. Yoder, 97, of Elkhart, died at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 23, 1920, in Elkhart County, to Harvey N. and Eliza (Newcomer) Yoder.
He married Florence M. (Stauffer) Yoder on Jan. 1, 1942, and she died Jan. 1, 2007.
Surviving are daughters Rosemary (Thomas) Detwiler of Spencer, Wisconsin, Eileen (Raymond) Miller of Goshen, Marilyn R. Yoder of Mishawaka and Judy A. Yoder of Versailles, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Merrill Yoder of Mishawaka (formerly of Wakarusa); and a sister, Miriam Wenger of Goshen.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; brothers, Paul, Ivan, Earl, and Carl Yoder; and a sister, Emma Hart.
David was a 1938 graduate of Wakarusa High School; 1942 graduate of Goshen College with a BA in secondary education and had a graduate degree from Notre Dame in science.
He was a school teacher of math and science in Nappanee, Bristol, Elkhart Central and also was an audio visual teacher at the Elkhart Area Career Center, where he retired in 1982.
David was a member of Olive Mennonite Church, where he was church historian, Sunday School teacher and ran audio visual for services.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his family all over the country.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Oct. 27, at Olive Mennonite Church, 61081 C.R. 3, Elkhart.
Pastors Kevin and Sharon Yoder will officiate and burial will follow in Olive (East) Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Olive Mennonite Church.

Yoder, David W., 97, of Elkhart, IN died October 24, 2017 at the same place. He was born March 23, 1920 in Elkhart Co., IN to Harvey N. and Eliza (Newcomer) Yoder. On January 1, 1942 he was married to Florence Stauffer, who is deceased.

NAPPANEE - Edwin J. Yoder, 88, of Nappanee, died Saturday, Feb. 25, at the home of his daughter from natural causes.
He was born July 17, 1928, to Jonas and Nancy (Slabaugh) Yoder.
On Jan. 19, 1950, he married Edna Kuhns, who preceded him in death Sept. 5, 2008. He married Barbara (Mast) Miller on Oct. 27, 2010.
She survives, along with his children, Katherine Yoder of Middlebury, Galen Yoder of Montgomery, Laura Eicher of Wakarusa, Fannie Yoder, Nancy Miller and Stanley Yoder of Etna Green; step-daughter, Roeleta Borkholder of Nappanee; 41 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer Yoder of Goshen; sisters, Mary Chupp of Etna Green, Martha Miller of Nappanee, Elizabeth Hochstetler of Nappanee.
Visitation is after 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26 and all day Monday at Stanley Yoder’s residence.
Funeral services are at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Arden Schwartz residence.
Yoder, Ella J. Weaver, 76, of LaGrange, died at 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She was born on February 4, 1941 in LaGrange to Jonas and Edna (Troyer) Weaver. On November 17, 1960 in LaGrange County she married Ervin L. Yoder, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are three daughters, Ruth (Edward) Yoder, Edna Fern (Danny) Miller and Sue Anna Yoder all of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, a step great great granddaughter; three sisters, Helen (Ray) Hochstetler of Topeka, Edna Bontrager of LaGrange, Lydia Borntrager of Goshen; two brothers, Harry (Mary) Weaver of Topeka, Harley (Ella) Weaver of Dalton, WI; sister-in-law, Mary Weaver of Shipshewana; three brothers-in-law, Elva (Martha) Miller of Ligonier, David Wengerd of LaGrange, Howard Miller of Ligonier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Anna Jacobs, Elsie Miller, Esther Miller, Susie Wengerd; a brother, Calvin Weaver; two great grandchildren, Myron Dean Lehman and Emma Jo Lehman; three brothers-in-law, Daniel Jacobs, Harvey Borntrager, Lester Bontrager. Ella was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Monday, November 27, and all day Tuesday, November 28, at the family's residence, 0695 South 700 West LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 29, at the Elmer Mast residence, 7420 West 050 South Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Bishop John Mishler and the home ministers. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
Yoder, Esther May Brenneman, 92, of Harrisonburg passed away Nov. 30, 2017, at Oak Lea Nursing Home.
Mrs. Yoder was born on May 15, 1925, in Orrville, Ohio, and was a daughter of the late Alvin Glen and Sadie Alice Huntsberger Brenneman. In 1959, she and her husband began a hatchery and later, in the 1960s, they owned and operated Chet’s Market in Sugarcreek, Ohio. While living in Ohio, she was a member of the Berlin Mennonite Church and Grace Mennonite Church. In 1992, she and her husband moved to Heritage Haven at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community and were members of Lindale Mennonite Church.
On Oct. 26, 1947, she married Chester J. Yoder who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 2015.
Surviving are two sons, J. David Yoder and wife, Nancy, Sarasota, Fla.; Richard L. Yoder and wife, Jeanelle, Dayton; two brothers, Paul Brenneman and Alvin “Junior” Brenneman, both of Orrville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jonathan Yoder and wife, Kim, and Michael Yoder and wife, Kaitlyn.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Peachey.
A memorial service will be held at Strite Auditorium of VMRC on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at 3 p.m. with Chaplain Eric Martin officiating.
A private burial will be held at Lindale Mennonite Cemetery with Pastor Dawn Monger officiating.
There will be no formal visitation however, friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home from noon until 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Yoder, Harvey Dale, 80, of Kalona, Washington Co., IA died October 5, 2017 at the same place. He was born January 1, 1937 at Kalona, Washington Co., Iowa to Noah M. and Magdalena (Hochstedler) Yoder. On October 1, 1959 at Kalona he was married to Ruby Ann Ropp, who is deceased.
Surviving are his siblings, Annie Ropp of Kalona, IA; Mary Ellen (Edward) Slabaugh of Mt. Crawford, VA; John Henry (Clara) Yoder of Williamina, OR; sister-in-law Verna Yoder of Dayton, VA; five brothers-in-law Joe Jr. Miller of Kalona; Ezra (Mary) Ropp of Middlebury, IN; Vernon (Nina) Miller of Kalona; Jacob (Susie) Ropp of Kalona; Cecil (Dorothy) Ropp of Ava, IL; and Virgil (Sue) Ropp of Middlebury, IN; three sisters-in-law: Emma (Oren) Miller and Vera Mast both of Kalona; and Nancy (Benny) Yoder of Iowa City.
A brother Menno M. Yoder, sisters Lydia May Yoder, and Erma Miller; brother-in-law Chester Ropp and sister-in-law Freda Miller preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held October 8, 2017 at Kalona Mennonite Church, Kalona, Washington Co., IA with burial in Peter Miller Cemetery, Kalona, Johnson Co., Iowa.
Yoder, Hazel Cordelle, 96, of Glendale, AZ died July 16, 2017 at the same place after a short illness. She was born January 29, 1921 at Parnell, Iowa Co., IA to John M. and Nancy (Guengerich) Yoder.
She is survived by a sister, Doris A. Spicher.
A sister, Ruth E. Yoder, and a brother, Edward J. Yoder preceded her in death.
Hazel and her sister Doris moved to Arizona in 1954, where she remained until her death. She was a member of Sunnyslope Mennonite Church for over 60 years, where she attended faithfully until she chose to stop driving. She and her sister Ruth moved to Glencroft Senior Living in 1982, where she was still living independently until a week before her death. She is survived by her sister, Doris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held July 22, 2017 at Glencroft Senior Living, Glendale, AZ with burial in Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, AZ.

BOURBON - Jennifer Lorane Yoder, 52, of Bourbon, passed away Saturday, Feb 25.
She is survived by husband Steven Yoder, her 11 children, Teresa Grechenkov, Gordon Yoder, Eden Mast, Hannah Yoder, Stevie Yoder, Micah Yoder, Brittney Hershberger, Theodore Yoder, Brianna Yoder, and Esther Yoder.
Also surviving are grandsons Aiden Yoder, Zane Yoder, Beckman Mast, Augustine Yoder, Sailor Yoder, and granddaughters Adoré Yoder, Sapphire Yoder, and Adaline Grechenkov.
She is also survived by her mother Inez Hulse and her siblings, Zonya (Salas) Hulse, Steve (Bertha) Hulse, David (Marcia) Hulse, Zelah (Laban) Kropf, and Peter Hulse.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 and from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday March 1, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, Goshen.

Yoder, Katie E. Swartzentruber
Dec. 17, 1934 - Aug. 29, 2017
A funeral service for Katie E. Yoder, 82, of Kalona will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona. Burial will follow at the Peter Miller Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 1:30 – 4 and 6 – 8PM at the Sharon Bethel Church. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home where Katie lived at the time of her peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting Katie's family.
Katie E. (Swartzentruber) Yoder was born December 17, 1934 in Kalona, Iowa, to Enos and Magdalena (Bender) Swartzentruber. On April 11, 1981 she was united in marriage to Tobias B. Yoder. Katie accepted Jesus into her heart in her youth and was a member of Sharon Bethel Church.
Survivors include her 96 year old husband of 36 years, Tobias B. Yoder, two step daughters: Patsy of Indiana and Linda of Florida, one step granddaughter Rachel, a brother Eldon (Katie) Swartzentruber of Harrisonburg, Virginia, a sister Sadie (Moses) Mast of Spencer, Oklahoma, 35 nieces and nephews, 176 great nieces and nephews and 183 great great nieces and nephews. Preceding Katie in death were her parents, two sisters: Barbara and Lovina, two brothers: Chris and Paul and a step daughter Karen.
Yoder, Katie J. Borkholder, age 87, Nappanee, died at 4:20 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 14, 1930 in Bremen to John A. and Sarah (Miller) Borkholder. On April 2, 1953 she married Levi E. Yoder in Bremen. He preceded her in death October 9, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Cara) Yoder, Nappanee, Richard (Beth) Yoder and Perry (Clara) Yoder, both of Bremen, and Harley (Diane) Yoder, Nappanee; daughters, Sarah (Jerry) Schmucker and Anna Yoder, both of Nappanee; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Malinda (Mahlon) Bontrager, Bremen, Ruby (Albert) Yoder, Bourbon, Irene (Eli) Lehman, Milford; brothers, Eli (Clara) Borkholder, Bremen, Eddie (Elnora) Borkholder and John Henry (Rosanna) Borkholder, both of Nappanee, Larry (Etta) Borkholder, Milford; sisters-in-law, Edna (Gilbert) Borkholder, Topeka, MaryEllen (Tobias) Borkholder, Bremen, and Sharon (Noah) Schrock, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi; brothers, Roman, Gilbert, Tobias, and Leroy Borkholder; brother-in-law, Mahlon Bontrager; and sister-in-law, Bertha Borkholder.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 and all day Saturday, November 18th at Jerry Schmucker residence (6044 W. 1350 N., Nappanee). Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, November 19th at Richard Yoder residence (1128 4th Rd., Bremen). Home ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Weldy Cemetery.

Yoder, Lillian Mae Smoker
July 19, 1934 - August 19, 2017
Lillian Mae (Smoker) Yoder, 83 years, wife of Roy Yoder of Belleville, entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2017. She was born on July 19, 1934 near Intercourse, PA a daughter of Christian and Anna (Fisher) Smoker. Lillian graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1952, and from Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. Her compassionate heart and love for people were obvious, and her nursing skills were put to good use as she served the Native American community around Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, where she became well loved. There she met and married Roy on August 23, 1967. They later moved to Belleville, then to British Columbia, Canada for four years before returning to Belleville, where they raised their family. Lillian loved her Savior and her family, and sought to strengthen those relationships. She also reached out to others by helping to start the Crossroads Problem Pregnancy Center in Lewistown, handing out Gospel literature at the local flea market, and teaching Sunday school. Hours were spent in the greenhouse, garden and flowerbeds. She produced plants that revealed her green thumb and love of growing things.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Roy L. Yoder of Belleville, PA and five daughters: Ivy, Laura, Linda, Ruth, and Barbara – Ivy, married to Jerry Troyer, Wasilla, AK; Laura, married to Rodney Martin, Goshen, IN; Linda, married to Douglas Shaum, Snover, MI; Ruth, married to Darryl Mast, Stone Lake, WI and Barbara, married to Troy Rudolph, McGaheysville, VA. Also surviving are three sisters – Beulah (Walter) Martin, Lancaster, PA; Anna Mary (Kenneth) Yoder, Middlebury, IN; and Alma (Clair) Groff, Lancaster, PA. She is also fondly remembered by 28 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Christian & Anna (Fisher) Smoker, brother and sister-in-law, Aquilla & Elizabeth Smoker; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin & Mildred Smoker; sister, Marian (Ferree, Jr.) Esbenshade, nephews Wayne Smoker and Jerry Lynn Smoker and a niece Sharlene (Esbenshade) Hertzler.
The family is gratefully indebted to Lillian's caregivers, Sharon Stoltzfoos, Jenny Stoltzfoos, Alice King, Esther Stoltzfoos and Emma Fisher, for their excellent care and the loved they shared, as well as those who helped Lillian with her housekeeping duties in earlier years.

Yoder, Lizzie Ann, 94, of Hartville, Stark Co., OH died February 15 2017 at Canton, Stark Co., OH, passing peacefully into her eternal rest. She was born December 28, 1922 at Hartville, OH to John J. and Emma (Miller) Yoder.
Surviving are her siblings, Esther (John) Hershberger, LeRoy (Martha), Wayne (Linda), Leona (Norman) Slabaugh, Joseph (Janice); and sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Mary Ellen (Schrock) and Mary Ellen (Miller) Yoder.
Her brothers and sisters who preceded her in death are Alvin, Henry, Clara (Henry) Byler, John Jr., Paul and James; and brother-in-law Elmer Yoder.
She was baptized in 1941 at the King Amish Church and was a faithful member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Hartville for many years. She volunteered her cooking skills at various Mennonite institutions and was a caregiver for her family and friends.
Memorial services were held February 18, 2017 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Hartville, OH with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Hartville, OH.

GOSHEN - Loretta Yoder, 61, of Goshen died at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, at Goshen Health Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1956 to John H.N. and Amanda (Plank) Miller.
On Nov. 2, 1976 she married Mervin H. Yoder, he survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Kenneth Eugene (LuEtta) Yoder, John Dale (Katie) Yoder, Devon (Amy) Yoder, Joseph (Lisa) Yoder; three daughters, Kristine (Larry) Mast, Vonda (Leon) Yoder, Dorene (Alvin) Schrock; 27 grandchildren; four brothers, and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Loretta was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. on, Dec. 24, and all day, Dec. 25, at Leon Yoder residence, 64430 CR 37 Goshen.
Funeral services are 9:30 a.m. on, Dec. 26, at the same residence.
Services will be conducted by the home ministers.

MIDDLEBURY - Luella N. Yoder, 75, of Middlebury, died at 8:43 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at her residence.
She was born June 30, 1941, in LaGrange County, to Noah and Lena (Eash) Bontrager.
On Oct. 7, 1965, in LaGrange County, she married Lloyd Yoder, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are four sons, Leon (Susan) Yoder and Lavon (Kathryn) Yoder, both of Middlebury, L. Dean (SuEtta) Yoder of Topeka and Lyle (Vonda) Yoder of Wakarusa; a daughter, LaVerda Jean (Mervin) Stoltzfus of Middlebury; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Mary (David) Schmucker of Shipshewana; three brothers, Samuel (Esther) Bontrager of Middlebury, Daniel (Susie) Bontrager of Topeka and John (Esther) Bontrager of Canton, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Mary Bontrager of Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Perry Bontrager.
Luella was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

SHIPSHEWANA - Mahala K. Yoder, 33, of Shipshewana, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, from injuries sustained in a bicycle/auto accident on S.R. 5 in Shipshewana earlier that day.
She was born Sept. 17, 1983, to Aaron A. and Katherine (Troyer) Borntreger.
On June 18, 2009, she married Marvin N. Yoder; he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are her parents; sisters Mary Miller, Kathryn Yoder, Martha Yoder, Fannie Miller, Barbara and Rebecca Borntreger; brothers Edward, John, Abraham and Andrew Borntreger.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Visitation will be all day Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Leonard Schwartz residence, 8195 West S. R. 120, Shipshewana.

Surviving in addition to her parents are two sisters, Krista Jean Yoder, Lisa Danae Yoder; brother, Jason Lee Yoder all at home; grandfather, Lloyd Yoder of Middlebury; grandparents, Melvin and Vera Yoder of Middlebury.

GOSHEN - Mark A. Yoder, 45, of Goshen, died early Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at home after a two-year illness.
He was born Jan. 25, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mark is survived by his parents, Richard L. and Nancy (Metzler) Yoder; a sister, Beth Yoder of Fort Wayne and two brothers, Brian (Mika Yamashita) Yoder of Washington D.C. and Rodney (Heather Martin) Yoder of Portland, Oregon.
A 1990 graduate of Bethany Christian High School, Mark enjoyed music and played keyboard and piano for several groups, including a Reggae band.
He was employed by South Side Soda Shop, Courthouse Pub and Constant Spring.
Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Sunday, Jan. 7, memorial service will be conducted at College Mennonite Church at 3 p.m., with a carry in meal to follow in the fellowship hall. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date.

ONTARIO, Canada - Mary Anna Yoder, 92 died Thursday, Jan. 26.
Yoder was born Dec. 11, 1925.
Mary was born in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, to Orphen S. Weber and Catherine Cressman Weber.
She married V. Ray Yoder on June 19, 1948.
Surviving are her children Kathryn Yoder Ernest of Akron, N.Y.; James (Linda Bertsche) Yoder of Parkersburg, W.Va. with two adult children, Rachael Yoder (Matt) Jarvis of Elizabeth, W.Va. and Tim Yoder, Parkersburg, W.Va.; John (Joanne Good) Yoder with one son, Daniel of Wheaton, Ill.; one great-grandson; and four siblings Vera Martin, Verna Weber, Lewis (Margaret) Weber, and David Weber, all living in Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; and her son-in-law, Gary Ernest.
Mary completed the 8th grade at which time she started employment outside the home.
She met her future husband at Ontario Mennonite Bible School, from which she graduated in 1946. At the point of her marriage to Ray, she relocated to Clarence Center, N.Y., and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. With the advent of her children, she was a full-time mother and homemaker.
She was the bookkeeper for their independent carpenter and contracting company, Ray-Mar Construction. Her employment outside the home included selling Fuller Brush products.
In 1984, at the age of 58, she attained her GED.
She and her husband hosted and developed long-term relationships with hundreds of international students and business people in their home as a service to the community and as a Christian witness. She and her husband also embarked on several international excursions to the Republic of Congo and to Bonaire.
A more recent highlight of her life was becoming a great-grandma in 2015.
They were active members of Clarence Center/Akron Mennonite Church for more than 60 years.
In retirement, Ray and Mary shared time between Akron, N.Y., and Sunnybreeze Retirement Community in Arcadia, Fla., until 2003 when they moved to Greencroft Retirement Community in Goshen.
Mary was a member of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen.
A memorial service will be held at Walnut Hill in early May.

She was born Sept. 6, 1939, to Ezra and Anna (Stutzman) Miller.
She married Enos A. Yoder; he survives.

Merrill J. Yoder, 101, Mishawaka, formerly of Wakarusa, died 12 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Mishawaka. He was born Jan. 4, 1916 in Elkhart County to Harvey & Eliza (Newcomer) Yoder. He married Fay Marie (Wenger) Yoder on Sept. 5, 1937 in Fort Wayne and she died Feb. 20, 2012.
Surviving are a daughter, Louise (Ken) Leach, Mishawaka, sons, Roger (Jan) Yoder, Black Canyon City, Arizona, Dennis (Shirley) Yoder, Wakarusa, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Miriam Wenger, Goshen.

Yoder, Raymond Floyd

Raymond Floyd Yoder, age 74, of Fairview, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21 following unexpected complications with his heart valve, while at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was born on November 5, 1942, in Luzerne, Michigan, the second of four sons born to Elwood and Elizabeth (Weaver) Yoder. Ray grew up in Fairview, Michigan and attended Fairview Schools, graduating in 1961. After high school, he worked on the family dairy farm and served two years in Voluntary Service as an orderly at a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ray married his lovely wife, Marjorie Roth, in Fairview, Michigan on September 27, 1969. Together, they worked on the family dairy farm and raised three wonderful children: Ferlin Scott, Marty Ray & Mindi Sue. Ray and Marjorie were active members of Fairview Mennonite Church for many years and are currently members of New Hope Assembly of God.
In 1997, Ray and Marjorie traveled to Big Lake, Alaska where they helped build houses with Mennonite Disaster Service. It was there that Ray fell in love with the beauty of Alaska. After retiring from farming, Ray worked one year in the sporting goods department at Walmart in Gaylord, then five years at the Woodworkers Shoppe in Comins. He and Marjorie returned to his beloved Alaska in 2003 to work at Denali National Park, where Ray drove tour buses and Marjorie did bookkeeping. They would go on to work there for six more summers.
An avid outdoorsman, Ray enjoyed: fishing, hunting, gardening, clearing brush in the woods and spending time up at the family cabin on Kabenung Lake in Ontario, Canada. He also enjoyed serving the community by volunteering as a mediator for the court system. He had a deep love for the Lord and was very active in church, serving on various church boards, leading Bible studies, and teaching Sunday School.
In their later years, Ray and Marjorie made several trips to Alaska and Indiana to visit their four beloved grandchildren: Parker, Marin, Trevor & Allie. In recent years, they enjoyed spending winter months with friends and family at Sunnybreeze Christian Community in Arcadia, Florida.
Surviving are: a loving wife, Marjorie (Roth) of Fairview, MI, brother Ken (Rachel)Yoder of Mountain Lake, MN, sister in law Tina (Lloyd)Yoder of Midland, MI, son Ferlin Yoder of Lupton, MI, son Marty (Haley)Yoder of Middlebury, IN, daughter Mindi (Jon) Sinclair of Anchorage, AK, and four grandchildren: Parker Yoder, Marin Yoder, Trevor Sinclair & Allie Sinclair. He was preceded in death by: his parents Elwood & Elizabeth Yoder, an infant brother Larry, brother Lloyd (Tina) Yoder, & niece Suzanne Yoder. Ray will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend.

(Stoltzfus) Byler. On March 5, 1955 at West Liberty, OH she was married to Chalmer Wirick Yoder, who died October 24, 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Flora Kay (Victor) Martin; one grandchild, one great-grandchild; and siblings, Dr Robert (Lora) Byler; Elmore (Cheryl) Byler; and Ellsworth (Evelyn) Byler.

GOSHEN - Sharon Lee Yoder, 81, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28.
She had been in failing health since being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in November.
Sharon was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Shipshewana, to Alvin and Irene (Allison) Weirich.
A 1953 graduate of Shipshewana High School, she married Terry L. Yoder at Forks Mennonite Church on Aug. 25, 1953.
He survives, along with her mother, Irene Weirich of Goshen; three children, Jane (Steve) Bowers of Goshen, Joel (Monica) Yoder of Granger and Jerold (Becki) Yoder of Goshen; six grandchildren, Ryan Bowers of Appleton, Wis., Rachel (Justin) Bergfeld of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Claire (Chris) Chinske of Beavercreek, Ohio, Natalie (Dallas) Bergl of England, Jason Yoder in the U.S. Navy based in Silverdale, Wash., and Emily Yoder of Goshen; eight great-grandchildren, Max, Mason, Gavin, and Lucy Bowers, all of Appleton, Wis., Nathaniel and Charlotte Chinske of Beavercreek, Ohio, Victoria Bergl of England, and Luke Yoder of Goshen; and two brothers, David (Joyce) Weirich of Chesterfield, Mich., and Denis (Carol) Weirich of Grand Haven, Mich.
Sharon served in Voluntary Service in LaJunta, Colo., in 1957.
She was employed at South Side Soda Shop, her mother’s restaurant (Irene’s Café) in Shipshewana, Yoder’s Department Store in Shipshewana and as a Title I reading tutor at Goshen Community Schools,
She was an accomplished seamstress who made clothes for all of her grandchildren. For 15 years, she sold her own crafts at the Shipshewana Flea Market. She loved to play bridge and euchre with her friends.

A private family burial will take place at Pleasant View cemetery prior to the 11 a.m. Monday memorial service at Pleasant View Mennonite Church.

Yordy, Edith Pearl, 93, of Eureka, Woodford Co., IL died October 11, 2017 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. She was born April 6, 1924 at Eureka to Walter and Alma (Eigsti) Yordy.
Two brothers, Richard and James and a sister, Evelyn Yordy preceded her in death.
Edith's career included working in a variety of nursing fields, but she found public health nursing most satisfying. In the early 1950s she was a volunteer nurse at the Pacific Garden Mission. She also worked in a Chicago children's hospital.
In Chicago, she was involved in the Mennonite Home Mission and, when it closed, at Englewood Mennonite Church. In Chicago, Edith was part of the Christian Business and Professional Women's Council meetings as recording secretary and monthly program planner. In 1972 Lombard Mennonite became her church home. Since moving to Goshen in 1991, Edith attended College Mennonite Church, and became a member in 2002. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship classes for four years

Yost, Vernon Schmidt, 88, of Arvada, CO died May 13, 2017 at the same place. He was born October 21, 1928 at Greensburg, KS to E. M. and Emma Yost. On June 17, 1990 he was married to Joyce Yost, who survives.
Surviving are children, Richard, Tom, and Cindy (Terry) Keesis; Stepchildren: Jeff (Jill) Yoder, and Scott (Tina) Yoder; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren.

MIDDLEBURY - Marvin R. Yutzy, 79, died at 12:23 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1938 in Plain City, Ohio, to Roy E. and Katie E. (Hershberger) Yutzy. On April 25, 1963, in Goshen, he married Anna Mae Troyer; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughters, Nora Ann Yutzy, Ellen Yutzy, Marietta (Paul) Mast and Leona (Marlin) Miller; sons, Elroy (Anita) Yutzy and Norman (Inez) Yutzy; 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Yutzy and Sarah Yutzy; and Wayne and Ruby Chupp and two children.
Marvin was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, a farmer and worked 28 years at Coachman.

Zehr, Wesley "Jay"

GOSHEN — Dr. Wesley Jay Zehr, 88, of Goshen, was born July 24, 1928, in Foosland, Illinois, one of eight children of the Rev. Harold and Alma (Unzicker) Zehr. He died Friday, July 7, 2017, at his home.
Jay graduated from Rantoul (Ill.) High School and attended Goshen College.
He earned his veterinary degree from the University of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Zehr. They were married Dec. 21, 1952. Jay was a member of College Mennonite Church since 1960.
Jay was raised on a central Illinois farm and as a youth discovered an interest in veterinary medicine, eventually choosing that career.
He was a veterinarian for Goshen Animal Clinic in the early 1960s before joining the Milford Small Animal Clinic where he also performed diagnostics for local poultry farms. He retired in 1992.
Jay remained proud of his farming heritage throughout his life and was committed to preserving family history. He dedicated many hours compiling documents and photographs, leaving a legacy for his family’s future generations.
He was an avid woodworker and spent much of retirement creating treasures for family members, including a cradle made from a walnut tree from Carolyn’s homestead.
Every grandchild and great-grandchild has slept in the cradle.
Jay was a Cubs fan and especially enjoyed watching the games in his later years.
He is survived by sons Eric (Luisa) Zehr of Goshen, Brian (Kyla) Zehr of Fort Wayne and Jeff (Lana) Zehr of Inman, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Darla (Steve) Schrock of Phoenix, Arizona, Amy (Jenna) Richie Zehr of Indianapolis, Evan, Erin and Andrew Zehr of Fort Wayne, Lindsey (Jake) Adams of Greenville, South Carolina, and Allison Zehr of Inman, South Carolina.; three great-grandchildren, Samuel Schrock, Nadia Schrock and Sommer Adams; brothers John Zehr of Urbana, Illinois and Allen Zehr of Bedford; sisters Hazel Yoder of Normal, Illinois and Lila King of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Zehr, sisters Edith Zehr and Rachel Zehr and stepmother Ruth Zehr.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 14, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. A 5 p.m. memorial service will be conducted in the sanctuary.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and cremated remains will be scattered in the College Mennonite Church Memorial Garden prior to the service.

Zehr, W. Jay, 88, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died July 7, 2017 at the same place. He was born July 24, 1928 at Foosland, Champaign Co., IL to Harold and Alma (Unzicker) Zehr. On December 21, 1952 he was married to Carolyn Sommer, who was born May 17, 1931 and died July 27, 2014.
Surviving are children, Eric (Luisa) Zehr; Brian (Kyla) Zehr; and Jeff (Lana) Zehr; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and siblings, John Zehr, Allen Zehr, Hazel Yoder, and Lila King.
Stepmother, Ruth Zehr, and siblings, Dean Zehr, Edith Zehr, and Rachel Zehr preceded W. Jay Zehr in death.

Elmer was born in East Earl, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1950, the son of the late Phares and Annie Wenger Zeiset. He had resided in the Savannah area for 37 years, moving from Fleetwood, Pa. Elmer was a self-employed truck driver and was manager of the Hill Top Auction Company of Clyde, N.Y.

Zeiset, Emma B. Weaver, 99, of Denver, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Cocalico Christian Home.
She was born in East Earl Township to the late Amos W. and Anna W. (Burkholder) Weaver and was the wife of the late Amos S. Zeiset who died in 2001.
Emma was a member of Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Con-ference) in Ephrata. She had worked for the Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver, Walter W. Moyer and Spring Glen Kitchens, both in Ephrata. Emma worked as a tour guide in the Amish country. She also farmed with her husband, and enjoyed flower gardening.
Emma had the gift of hospitality. In addition to her family, she provided a home for many others who flourished under her care. She pieced a quilt top for each of her grandchildren, and she was interested in the genealogy of her family.
Emma is survived by 9 children, Mary Susan, wife of Roy Lehman of Cambridge Springs, Anna R. Page of Mountville, Alan W. Zeiset, husband of Esther S. of White, GA, Samuel W. Zeiset, husband of Lois of Willow Street, John David Zeiset, husband of Nancy of Memphis, MO, Roy W. Zeiset, husband of Anna H. of Orrstown, Raymond W. Zeiset, husband of Mary of Myerstown, Lloyd W. Zeiset, husband of Karen of Akron, A. Leon Zeiset, husband of Verna of Chambersburg; 41 grandchildren; 154 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alta Weaver of Lititz, and Lillian, wife of Jason Shaum of Letonia, OH; and a brother, Amos B. Weaver, husband of Ruth of Stevens.

He was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County on August 26, 1928, a son of the late George N. and Mary Ella Martin Zimmerman. Amos was a retired farmer and excavator. He was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference and volunteered as an EMT for 25 years with Schaefferstown Ambulance Association.

Zimmerman, Joseph M., 92, of Ephrata, passed away on August 1, 2017 at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Hoover) Zimmerman, whom preceded him in death in 2008.
Born in Earl Twp., Joseph was a son of the late Joseph E. and Hettie (Martin) Zimmerman.
Joseph was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference, and worked as a farmer and a small engine repairman.
Joseph is survived by 4 children: Lena H. Weaver (Lloyd F.) of Ephrata, Ada Mae Shirk (Melvin L.) of East Earl, James H. Zimmerman (Anna Shirk) of Barnett, MO, and Lydia Ann Weaver (Christ N.) of Orrstown; 2 siblings: Frances Zimmerman of Ephrata and David M. Zimmerman (Barbara Reif) of New Holland; a sister-in-law, Fannie Mae Shirk of Ephrata; 25 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.

Zimmerman, Mabel I. [Stoltzfus], 83, formerly of Strasburg, died at the Mennonite Home on Monday, May 1, 2017. Mabel grew up on a farm in Chester County attending Conestoga Christian School in her grade school years. She attended a semester at Lancaster Mennonite School and a semester at Sarasota High School in Florida, where her parents spent the winter. In her late teens, she served her church volunteering at a mental health facility in Hagerstown, MD. Her marriage to Melvin M. Zimmerman in 1955, brought her to Blue Ball, where her husband's family business was located. In 1962, moving to Strasburg, Mabel helped her husband relocate and open Zimmerman's Hardware.
The interests of Mabel were varied; she grew a large vegetable garden, most of which was grown to be canned or frozen, as well as fruit. Flower gardening was also a favorite. She enjoyed cooking, and often entertained her family or friends. Mabel enjoyed quilting with her sisters, doing crafts in her spare time or sewing clothing. She loved taking care of her four granddaughters as children, and during their growing up years, spending a week each summer going to a cabin in upstate PA.
In 1985, they hosted an Indonesian exchange student, an MCC trainee, who spent six months learning and would later go on to serve as a Pastor in Indonesia. Travel brought many memories, with special interest to Longwood Gardens and Hershey Gardens for the roses. Mabel and her husband traveled for business and leisure, to destinations throughout Europe, England, Mexico, Canada and many areas within the United States. In later years, she and her husband spent the first three months of the year in Sarasota, FL.
Mabel attended Christian Women's Club, Farm Women Society #28, and participated in the No Longer Alone ministries. As a Red Cross volunteer, she served at the Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital for 25 years.
In addition to Mel, she is survived by her children: Robert (Lancaster), Marianne, wife of Doug Arndt (Strasburg) and was preceded in death by son, Douglas R.; her granddaughters: Laura Arndt married to Andrew Humphreville, (Lancaster); Ashley Zimmerman, (Colorado); Abby Arndt, (Florida) and Megan Zimmerman, (Lancaster). She was also preceded in death by her sisters Clara Stoltzfus, Alta Sharp and Erma Stoltzfus and a brother, Marvin Stoltzfus.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mennonite Home as well as the staff of Hospice & Community Care for their care and compassion.

She was born in Berks County to the late Leroy and Sarah (Weaver) Martin and was the wife of Alvin N. Zimmerman with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Mary Ella was a member of the Groffdale Frame Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. She was a homemaker.

Zimmerman, Melvin R., 60, of Narvon, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Katie L. Zimmerman, with whom he shared over 35 years of marriage.
Born in East Earl, he was a son of the late Harvey S. and Ella N. (Reiff) Zimmerman.
He was a farmer and a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Zimmerman, Nora N., 94, of Ephrata, formerly of Farmersville, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Fairmount Homes.
She was born in Clay Township to the late John E. and Katie H. (Nolt) Zimmerman.
She was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conf.).
Nora was a homemaker.
Nora is survived by a sister, Ella Mae Shirk, wife of the late Henry Shirk of New Enterprise; 2 sisters-in-law, Ella Zimmerman of Lititz, Eva Zimmerman of Lititz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Isaac, Ivan, Norman, and Aaron Zimmerman.

Zimmerman, Richard S., 42, of Lititz, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at his residence, after a 14 month battle with cancer.
He was born in Ephrata to Marvin and Mabel (Shirk) Zimmerman of Ephrata and was the loving husband of Christine H. (High) Zimmerman.
Richard was a member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He worked as a fabricator for 26 years at Paul B. Zimmerman, Ephrata.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by eight children, Yolanda J., Josiah D., Devon R., Andrew C., Christopher J., Jordan B., Rylan P. and Claudia G. Zimmerman all at home; two brothers, Gary L., husband of Carol Zimmerman of Ephrata, Glenn S., husband of Anita Zimmerman of Stevens; two sisters, Marlene S., wife of Marvin Martin of Cato, NY and Rosalie S., wife of Gary Nolt of Lebanon.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Rd., Lititz. GOSHEN - Roy B. Zimmerman, 73, of Goshen, died peacefully at home, at 7:20 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017.
He had been in declining health for one year and was looking forward to meeting his Savior and reuniting with his three children who had preceded him in death.
Roy was born March 20, 1944, in Foraker to John W. and Esther (Bauman) Zimmerman.
He had lived his lifetime in this area. On Nov. 28, 1965, he married Anna Mary Shirk.
Roy was a member of Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. He was a dairy farmer and owned Michiana Wheel Polishing.
He served in 1-W Service in Kokomo and was on the Haiti MGMH Board.
Roy enjoyed spending time with his family.
Roy is survived by his wife, Anna Mary; children Valerie (Todd) Martin of Claypool, Janell (Allen) Martin of Goshen, Sharon (Rodney) Ramer of New Paris, Jonathan (Marlene) Zimmerman of Goshen and Kimberly (Adam) Ramer of New Paris; 35 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Merle (Verna) Zimmerman of Elkhart and Arthur (Lois) Zimmerman of Nappanee; and sisters Mary Ann VanPelt, Edith Martin and Erma (Robert) Ramer, all of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by children, Galen, Cynthia,and Julia Zimmerman; granddaughter, Erica Martin; brothers Kenneth, Norman and Melvin Zimmerman; and brother-in-laws, Perry VanPelt and Charles Martin.
Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, and 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25, at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Zimmerman, Steven L., age 48, of East Waterford, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. He was born Sunday, April 28, 1968 in Lancaster, the son of Titus S. and Mary E. (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of Narvon, PA.
Steven was owner of Juniata Valley Pole Buildings which he operated since 2003. He was a member of New Hope Mennonite Church in Upper Strasburg.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl (Nolt) Zimmerman. He is also survived by three daughters: Ashley N. Zimmerman of New Holland, Amberly B. Zimmerman of East Waterford, Lakeisha M. Zimmerman of East Waterford, four sons: Austin S. Zimmerman, Dominic L. Zimmerman, Keshon L. Zimmerman, Deandre B. Zimmerman of East Waterford, six sisters: Vera Jane and husband Lavern Newswanger of Morgantown, Mary Beth and husband David Horst of Penn Yan, NY, Priscilla R. and husband Lamar Shirk of Thorp, WI, Linda J. and husband John Aaron Shirk of Barnett, MO, Esther Mae and husband Ivan Sensenig of Narvon, Janice A. and husband Mervin Hoover of Denver, three brothers: John David Zimmerman of East Earl, Carl Eugene and wife Linda Zimmerman of Narvon, and Calvin L. and wife Marian Zimmerman of Purdin, MO.

Zook, Lloyd Lee
July 14, 1930 - July 18, 2017
Lloyd L. Zook, 87, passed away July 18, 2017, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born July 14, 1930, in Surrey, North Dakota, the son of Solomon and Barbara Yoder Zook. A resident of Hesston most of his life, he was very influential in the community in many different positions. He married Loretta Elaine Neuman on Aug. 16, 1957. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, David (Lynnette), Buhler and Kevin (Marcella), Hesston; two daughters, Karen (John), Grand Island, Nebraska, and Pam (John), Moundridge; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Durbin Zook; and two sisters, Esther Yoder and Ruby Weaver.
A private family inurnment has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 12, 2017) at Kingdom Life Church, Hesston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiloh Ranch Ministries, Solomon, in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.

Solomon and Barbra Zook welcomed Lloyd Lee Zook into the world on July 14lh. 1930. Lloyd and his other three siblings. Esther, Durbin, and Ruby grew up on their family farm in Surrey, North Dakota. His love for family and farming began at an early age as he worked side by side with his father and the other men. Lloyd would often tell of his fondness for his Uncle Kris Zook. Uncle Kris's relationship kindled Lloyd's desire for adventure and wanderlust. That relationship would also later define his desire to pursue the Lord.
Lloyd also earned the moniker of‘Lloydy Boy’. Even in his later years as acquaintances would visit him at Schowaltcr Villa, that name could be heard echoing through the halls.
Dad graduated High School in 1948 and continued to help on the farm. During this time, the Zook family moved to Kansas for health reasons and to be nearer to Esther and Ruby.
The desire for adventure prompted Lloyd to enter Voluntary Service in 1954. He spent the bulk of that service working at a hospital in Denver, Colorado. Many lifelong friendships were developed during this period of time. It was in Denver that he met a pretty little nurse from Idaho. The romance began on a Sunday with a box lunch social held at the local church. He was the high bid and a first date with Lorretta Neuman ensued. (It was chaperoned and there was no ‘patty fingers’).
After a year of courtship, Lloyd and Lorretta were married on August 16th, 1957. They lived in various locations in Denver during their first two years of their marriage. The fortunate aspect of this relationship, from this author's perspective, is the birth of David (1958) and Kevin (1960).
This is where the journey begins in earnest. The Zooks moved to Aberdeen, Idaho in 1961. It was at this time that an unexpected, yet joyful surprise occurred. Karen entered the world in 1961. The first journey to Hesston (1963) saw Lloyd working as an accountant at a fledgling company called Excel Industries. He later worked in the offices of Hesston Corporation. Pamela joined this wayfaring troop in the year 1966. The farming bug hit in 1969 and it was back to Aberdeen as dairy farmer. Lloyd returned to Excel and town of Hesston in 1972.
During the Hesston years. Lloyd was an elder at both Whitestone and InterMennonite Fellowship. He was also on the Hesston School Board.
The desire to be an independent businessman continued when Lloyd partnered to open a daylight doughnut shop called Woody’z, (around 1974). Lloyd opened Mr. Z’s doughnuts in 1978 and the family moved to McPherson for a year. The return to Hesston led Lloyd back to Agco/Hay and Forage where he worked until his first retirement.
He then drove bus for the Hesston School District until his second retirement at the age of 83 (yes 83).
The last years of Lloyd’s life were defined by events that transpired in the late I970’s. This is when he had an encounter with the Lord that forever changed him. He began to attend Full Gospel Business Men’s meetings. He realized there was much more to his relationship with Christ than he could ever imagine. This ultimately led him to a life of prayer, especially in the last few years of his life. He would spend hours praying for family, extended family, and friends. He would often talk of these sessions and of his conversations with the Lord. His prayers were for his children, their chrldren/step children, the Weavers, the Yoders, the Zooks, the Neumans, those who looked to him as a father/grandfather figure and for his friends. All were of concern and worthy to be taken to prayer to see the Lord’s blessings in their lives.
Zook, Martha Elizabeth Eshleman Garber, age 93, of Grand Lake, Colorado, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. She was the wife of the late Clarence Garber who passed January 8, 1956, and the late Al Zook who passed away on December 6, 1980. She was born in Lancaster on December 7, 1923, daughter of the late Christian H. & Mary Edna Zimmerman Eshleman.
She was a member of the Glennon Heights Mennonite Church, Lakewood, Colorado, where, in the past, she was an Elder and involved in Bible Studies and as a children's teacher. She was a retired Registered Nurse and served at a clinic on a Navajo Indian Reservation and worked on staff at the Denver General Hospital and at Villa Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Grand Lake Area Historical Society and the Grand Lake Woman's Club, serving as president for a time with the Club.
Surviving is a sister Suetta Binkley. She was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Veldora Bauman, Maurice, John and Christian Z. Eshleman.
Graveside service will take place at the Hershey Mennonite Cemetery, 401 Hershey Church Road, Kinzers, PA, on Saturday, June 10th, at 10 a.m., Rev. Earl Binkley officiating.

Zook, Rosemary Stieglitz, 83, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died March 29, 2017 at the same place. She was born March 18, 1934 at Milford, Kosciusko Co., IN to Henry and Anna (Zimmerman) Stieglitz. On June 7, 1958 at Goshen she was married to John M. Zook, who was born April 12, 1933 and survives.
Surviving are children, Lori (Joe); Marc (Wendy); and Becci; six grandchildren, and siblings, Harley J. (Liz) Stieglitz; William Stieglitz; James Stieglitz; Elizabeth (Jack) Scruggs; Frances (Eric) Schiller; and Ruth (John) Hooley.
Three brothers, George Stieglitz; Lawrence Stieglitz; and John Stieglitz preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held April 3, 2017 at College Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Milford Cemetery, Milford, IN.
